1. What is Homoeopathy?
 
Homeopathy, or homeopathic medicine, is a holistic system of treatment that originated in the late eighteenth century. The name homeopathy is derived from two Greek words that mean "like disease." The system is based on the idea that substances that produce symptoms of sickness in healthy people will have a curative effect when given in very dilute quantities to sick people who exhibit those same symptoms. Homeopathic remedies are believed to stimulate the body's own healing processes. Homeopaths use the term "allopathy," or "different than disease," to describe the use of drugs used in conventional medicine to oppose or counteract the symptom being treated .... Close

2. Homoeopathy medicines are too slow in acting- is that true?
 
Absolutely a wrong conception that people have. Speed of action or recovery of patients depends on (i) Susceptibility of the patient (ii) selection of the medicine and potency and (iii) stage of the disease.
If diagnosed early and treated with well selected Homoeopathic medicines, a patient recovers much quicker than Allopathy at times. Unfortunately most patients coming to Homoeopathy after facing failure in other streams of medicines after years of tretment, start expecting magical cure right away – which is impractical.
One should remember Homeopathy is no miracle but a medical science and so one who is not ready to undergo a painstaking systematic treatment and rather runs after miracles should not expect a radical cure .... Close

3. Does Homeopathy act better in Chronic or Acute Diseases?

4. Is Homeopathic mode of treatment cost effective?
 
Yes Homoeopathic mode of treatment is very cost effective.The medicines are inexpensive and affordable by all.It is also required in very small quantities. However,It must be kept in mind that Cost effective medicine does not mean , patients should purchase the cheapest brand available but in fact they should only go for reputed brands like ‘Allen’s’, ‘AHI’ etc to get proper result .... 5. How to identify Qualified Homoeopathic Doctors?
 
Doctors Qualified from medical colleges have these qualifications: B.H.M.S, D.M.S and MD.Before visiting a doctor verify if he has the right qualifications and has a State or Central Registration for practicing the healing art. Many practitioners is Villages and suburban towns practice Homeopathy without a legal license .Many of these practitioners also have good knowledge about Homoeopathy and are well read .... Close

6. Is Homeopathy a Scientific mode of treatment?
 
Homeopathy is an extremely advanced mode of treatment and will be noticed as the most preferred therapy in the 21st century. 7. Can Homoeopathy and Allopathy be taken together?
 
In most cases Homoeopathic medicines can easily be taken along with Allopathic medicines, in fact patients undergoing treatment for some organic diseases like ‘Diabetes’, ‘Thyrotoxicosis’, etc are advised not to withdraw the allopathic medicine immediately . In fact in a few cases, a joint therapy is seen to produce better result than both the individual modes of treatment.
As Homeopathy acts through the body’s natural immune responses , it should not be taken along with those Allopathic medicines that cause Immunosuppression E.g Steroids or Antibiotics .... Close

8. Is Homeopathy a Scientific mode of treatment?
 
No specific dietary restrictions are there while undergoing Homoeopathic treatment. In fact the restriction that is imposed should be disease specific like avoiding Milk in Irritable Bowel Syndrome or Smoking in Peptic ulcer Syndrome.The patient should just avoid any strongly aromatic substance and other food within half an hour of taking the medicine ....
